Interesting + beautifully written story.

It starts a little slow, but soon you can't put it down! I highly recommend!!!

I wasn’t sure I would enjoy this story at first but I’m glad I kept reading. I was cringing in the fear of what would happen eventually but very pleasantly surprised at the wonderful conclusion. Well done.

Still thinking about these characters who are so richly developed and you learn a lot about 1933 and the issues of the day but in a way that doesn’t feel heavy. This is a long book but I wanted more and am sad it ended.

It took a little bit to get rolling, soon I was sucked in to this captivating story … One so good that I’m writing this review at 5 am, just after having finished it. I don’t often read thru the night these days — but this one was well worth it!

Couldn’t put it down. Remarkably real characters and a well woven story.

Good story. Great plot. Love the authenticity of the writing during the era and time period setting. Just dragged on and the ending was a bit abrupt. Still like I said, good read. Just be ready to stick it out.

This book shot to my top 5 ever. I couldn’t get enough of each character. I laughed, I cried. A must read.
