Loved every page! I felt like I knew each character more intimately. Each chapter focused completely on one character, dealing with a period of time in their life. It built a lovely puzzle that, when all assembled, made a fascinating story.
Delightful!

Delightful characters and simple yet magical and a picturesque storyline. Pilcher always makes you feel like you’re part of the family. Such a talent. This would be a great read during the holidays.
Gem of a Read

Heartwarming and magical. I am sorry to see it end. I wish for another installment in the lives of these charming characters.
Do Carrie and Sam really get together? Does he buy the estate house? What about Rory and his trip to Napa? Does he marry Lucy? So many lose ends just perfect for another story and more adventures!
I adore this book!!

I absolutely loved this story. Heartwarming and lovely. I did not want it to end. Rosamunde develops her characters so well that I found myself emotionally attached to each of them and the lovely landscapes, and home life, which she describes with such feeling…..the book is just wonderful! Perfect Winter read. I plan to reread it when December arrives ❤️
Glad I only tried the sample

This book is so boring and saccharine sweet. 40:pages was more than enough.

Loved the nature descriptions, and all the good food they’re always cooking and eating. Reading this book was like slipping into a warm bath after a brisk walk across romantic moors.
One of the cheesiest books ever

The story line of the book is quite predictable. The dialogues are artificial, and constantly repeat themselves. The characters are quite fake in nature.
Elfrida is a woman with a questionable reputation who "attacked" a newly widowed man in order to settle down.
Oscar is a quite weak man , and it's very disappointing he proposed to marry another woman only after two months his wife passed away.
Lucy is a difficult teenager who needs a good upbringing and parents must pay attention to her needs and not allow her to do whatever she wants.
Carry is another woman with questionable reputation who tried to ruin a family of married man.
Sam is so nice and sweet. He is a "true angel". There is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with him. Sooooo boring!
I really regret I spent my money and time on this book!
And now let me read another
