Lucas Davenport has tracked killers in cities across America. But the woods of rural Wisconsin are as dark and primal as evil itself. The winters are harsher and colder. And in the heart of every mother and father, there is fear ...

A little slow, don’t need too many details but still kept my interest. Didn’t care for the female doctor character. Onto to the next in the series.

Great book. It’s been 20~ years since I read the first part of the Prey series. Winter Prey was a good reminder of why I have stuck with John Sandford and read almost all of the entire 30 book series.

Keeps you intent on the plot, trying to figure out "who done it". Mild surprises with the last few chapters....great ending. John Sanford writes a riveting tale.
