  • But What About…

    3
    By Justambie
Pros: Appealing characters, even the supporting cast, and reasonable plot line. Also the sexy parts are pretty sexy. Author easily pulls you into the story and sets you up to want to take the ride. Cons: Another one where loose ends aren’t tied up. Lily’s huge fear that kept her from relationships and kept het moving around (until Honeymoon Harbor) never surfaces. Never comes home to roost, so we are left at the end not only unsatisfied by the omission of fleshing out that part of her life, we also feel like she’s a bit of a paranoid snowflake for running from shadows all her life. Also, Burke’s “solution” (which shouldn’t really be needed since Lily’s fears were unfounded) was to walk away from the career he dreamed of since childhood and then paste together a professional life with an improbable buckshot scenario of multiple options, none of which have a realistic feel. I love this author but I feel over the past few books like she’s being pushed to a zippy wrap up before she’s able to really bring the story together. I hope that changes.
