Another great book about HOT Strike Team 2 and their love of country and each other . This is Scarlett and Mal’s story and what a fantastic story. So much happens in this story the angst and fear of being found by her ex that Scarlett is always looking over her shoulder . Mal is there for her but he’s dealing with his own injuries and doubts. This is such a fantastic story I highly recommend it .

What an emotional ride. Abusive ex. Falling for a guy in love with someone else. Kidnapping. Emotional and physical torture. How much can a woman take? Scarlett and Mal met in a hospital environment and they would end up visiting that place again for different reasons. They became friends and landlord/tenant during their time working together to rehab his injuries. Then they became friends with benefits. But he never hid from her the fact that he loved another woman. But does he really love her or was it the thought of her or someone like her? When her past comes back to haunt her will Mal and his team be able to protect Scar? Will they be able to prevent the storm from coming? I was a little surprised we didn't see more about Scar's recovery, but I understand that is not what this story was about. I just thought we would get a little insight. For what she went through it would have been both physical and mental therapy and it would have taken time. I will admit I didn't have tears in this story, but I did have a lot of anger. I felt so angry that this was happening to her. Her ex was piece of work and did so much damage to Scarlett, both physically and mentally, but the mental is what irks me. I know it happens, but it shouldn't. I am so glad she found Mal and he did everything he could to make her feel at ease with him

This story had characters that you just can't help but like. Mal and Scarlett were so good together from the first encounter that you couldn't help but enjoy every time they were together. Scarlett's experience made my heart cry for her and at times during this wonderful read i did cry because yiu couldn't help but be so emotional about what she was going through. Mal was the perfect partner for her because he is such a caretaker. I loved these two together!!! Great Read!!

Oh my goodness! I didn’t want to put this book down and go to bed. I wanted to stay up and read all night. But I didn’t and couldn’t, so I did the next best thing and picked it up again as soon as I could. I absolutely adored the banter between Mal and Scarlett. It reminds me a lot of the relationship I have with my husband. The bonus epilogue is so perfect. They’re absolutely a perfect couple.
