I really enjoyed Mr. Turow’s other books, but this one, sadly, was painful to read.

Twisted from the beginning, this author has the ability to tell a story that keeps you in the dark.the culprit will surprise you.

Enough plot to keep my interest and suspense to keep me reading. Great character building and lessons in life choices.

Superb writing. Could not put it down...as with all his books.

First book I've read by this author...and will be my last. Took forever to get thru the courtroom scenes. I have to say "Boring". I was so hoping for more.

Not at all what I expected based on his other novels and the “acclaim” for this one. Gets slightly better toward the middle, if you can make it that far. Definitely not a compelling or fast passed read. Quite the opposite.

Amazing novel!! Sandy Stern is one of the great character in modern literature. From his introduction in Presumed Innocent to his very intimate story in The Burden Of Proof, he has become an iconic figure in several of Scott Turow’s novels!! This one is no exception! It grabs the reader from the beginning and never lets up!

I’ve read all of Scott’s books. This is his worst.

Too much courtyard blather, boring page after page of medical technicalities. I skipped a lot, thinking it would get better. It didn’t.
