This book was a decent read.
I appreciated that it portrays love in a complex way in that it’s not the only thing that matters in life.
However, it did feel like I was needlessly placed in an echo chamber for most of the book. Even though India had left home for 4 years to make a life for herself, she somehow had no connections outside of the family which would have helped with this. Despite repeated claims of having missed being home and that her siblings were supportive of her, it’s never really illustrated why or how. A vast majority of the book is spent doing the opposite, which makes it harder to empathize with her “conflicted” feelings about pretty much everything.
