I ate this book for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was mysterious, romantic, and thrilling. I enjoyed the writing and how in depth each occurrence was. The intense description of scenery, character actions, and behavior was easily imaginative. Meriel was a delightful character with many layers that made her appealing. Alongside, Dominic was enjoyable considering the aspects of his character early on in the book. The story was surprisingly unpredictable. It was a wild ride and I would get on it all over again to relive the passion between those two.

Mary Jo Putney always delivers a fascinating story! Loved the wild child nature of the main character and the balance of civilization of Dom. Excellent story through the end!

This book had me captivated from the beginning. A novel of pain, destruction and love, and loved conquered all.

Captivating, more than just the usual romance novel. The back story and development of the characters is excellently executed.

I loved this story so much it was hard to put it down. It is not your typical historical romance and is intriguing throughout. The characters are wonderfully created and each peaks one’s curiosity. It is one of the best books I’ve read in a while.

I liked the way this story unfolded. I had anticipated certain things to happen and the author took it in different and unexpected directions. I haven’t read a book in a while so I choose this as a book to start up the habit. I finished it in just a few days.
