    Cowboy Christmas Guardian is the first in a new series by Dana Mentink. Shelby Arroyo is trying to do her job by assessing mineral rights in a mine, but someone is determined to stop her! They will stop at nothing to make sure Shelby does not accomplish her mission. Enter Barrett Thorn to help the damsel in distress. The only problem is that Shelby is related to the man responsible for Barrett's wife's death. I enjoyed getting to know the characters and seeing first hand their struggles with hurts from the loss of loved ones and learning to forgive while staying on the edge of my seat to see what was going to happen next. In typical Dana Mentink style, the reader will be drawn into the page-turning suspense from the very beginning. However, just when you think you have it all figured out, there is a huge plot twist at the very end. You'll have to read it to find out! This book is full of nail-biting edge of your seat suspense that doesn't disappoint. Oh and just the right amount of romance of course! I look forward to the rest of the series that will feature the other Thorn brothers. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
