Nothing is as it seems in this twisted story of a neighborhood with secrets and secrets that lead to multiple murders. The red herrings are scattered throughout the story and make it so hard to put down. The characters are the beloved characters from the series, with talented and brilliant Maura and determined Jane in the center of the action. In this book, though, Jane’s mom Angela plays a starring role and is brilliant as the nosy neighbor. Loved the characterization and the fast moving plot! All opinions are my own.

Spoiler alerts: Although I had an idea early on about why the nurse was killed, the actual killer was a bit of a surprise. As for the story about Angela’s mystery, I guessed the part about the witness protection, but not the love triangle between the neighbors. That was an interesting aside. Like I’ve said in other reviews about the books, I prefer the close relationship Jane and Maura had in the tv series better. I really miss that show!

I thought this was a great book. I like that most of it comes from Angela’s point of view. I only guessed one part of the ending.
